This face is known to thousands of children around Australia – as is the smile and photobombing pose! For years, Jack Aakhus has inspired kids of all ages in robotics competitions. Jack’s ping-pong-ball hat is iconic – each ball signed by kids from across the world (he remembers each one) – and team badges appear on him as if by magic. He has been part of my life since I was nine, growing a strong bond with me and my team. He is my role model of kindness, energy and joy of life. He enabled my enthusiasm for STEM.
