As Bol’ŋu (Thunderman) travelled through the country, the Dhuwa clouds and the rain followed him. Rivers and creeks and springs with freshwater for the dry season formed. And he said to himself, ‘May it always be this way’.
All the Dhuwa clans that sing Bol’ŋu each have a special piece of rainforest dedicated to Bol’ŋu. From each of these rainforests, small clouds rise from each territory. He has brought them all together in one. They are the spear he holds which curves above his head. He is the wet season. Here he is at Djapu clan country at Boruwuy.
