Nestled in a deep enclave, this is an imagined scene, drawn from memories and sensations inspired by various places. I wanted to evoke the spaciousness of the Australian bush, and the feeling of excitement at stumbling upon such a sparkling glade. I hope the painting conveys a sense of expansiveness and the interconnectedness of everything.

I see the interconnections between people reflected in nature – our flaws, like the disfigured joints of the trees, are grafted together in an embrace of damage, renewal and deep hope.
